I have compiled the feedback from your comments into a formal report regarding the neglect of county shelter obligations. This document is currently being delivered to the office of the county judge executive to establish a formal record for our upcoming discussions.

The volume of support has now reached a scale that demands a formal response from county officials. I am currently drafting a letter to the county judge executive to request a meeting regarding the legal requirements for animal control facilities.

There is some dogs that have no homes and lives on strip jobs. We really need a animal shelter in Breathitt county. I have a dog that was left on the strip job and it is one of the most loving dogs I have ever had. Please get a shelter for them after all they are living, breathing things too. Love all animals....
We need a animal shelter and we also need people like animal cops on animal planet who make sure people are taking care of the animals they have and if not take them and place them where they will be taken care of.
It warms my heart knowing there's other people who care and want to help animals!!

I think we have many people in our county who would be willing to volunteer and make the shelter a successful investment. I know I would! I dedicate some of my personal time now to picking up stray animals and finding them homes. I can't stand to see one out in the cold, hungry... I hope we get an animal shelter in Breathitt County!
