Seeing one hundred people agree that this phone ban is too much makes me feel a lot less alone in my frustration. I remember when this felt like a lost cause and now it is actually starting to gain some real momentum.

Yes it is. Cell phones can help independent study, by searching information/s from the internet for homework or class work. Cell phones shouldn’t be banned because if students forget or doesn’t have a laptop or any other devices except for a cell phone, cell phone can be used.
Phones are not only for gaming and could be used for communicating for food to your drivers or gojek teachers may take the peoples phone who are using their phones for gaming but those who are not using it for gaming like calling shouldnt be confiscated
I’ve been happy with recent changes within the school, but honestly, how unreasonable can a rule get? what about students who need to do work outside of class? review notes available on GOOGLE CLASSROOM, are you kidding me?
we have actual problems like the lack of cafeteria cleanliness and actual food, reason why everyone uses gojek nowadays... which requires your phone. our toilets and ac not working, students getting in fights and vaping... but what does the school do? paint the walls and ban phones!
unfortunately some of us dont have friends to connect with during lunch or break time, we sit infront of the class waiting til break ends. having our gadgets will save us our sorrow of being lonely and we could use it to be more productive such as studying for time trials doing exta classwork.
