The government has decided to ban cellphones from classrooms starting in September of 2019. To show them that we disagree with the ban, sign this petition.

Updates

March 18, 2019

The response to this petition has demonstrated a clear and widespread concern regarding the new policy. This momentum confirms that our perspective on classroom technology deserves serious consideration from provincial officials.

Kids should be able because that is a way for them to get along so with out it you will have kids that don’t want to speak because someone will judge them

Students have the right to keep their phone, incase of an emergency or an import issue they need to have their phones with them.

there is no reason to ban cell phones like where are they suppose to go when u get to school and some people need their phones so they don’t get kidnapped on their way to school or to check in with their parents during school or before and after school also some people have responsibilities after school like a job or they need to check up on their younger siblings we need our cell phones

If you really had an emergency you could literally just go down to your school’s office and make a call. When is the last time you have had an “important issue” during class and NEEDED to get in contact with someone THAT INSTANT. In the event something really serious could happen, the school does have the resources to help you deal with that.
