To: Putnam County Board of Commissioners

Those who sign this petition are opposed to the rezoning request of 57 acres along Collis Road to RM-3 without conditions. The rezoning request is on the Board of Commissioner's June 16, 2020 public meeting agenda.

At the public meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on June 4, 2020, the developers of the hotel opposed the board’s recommendation to rezone the property to RM-3 with conditions. The conditions insure that a hotel is developed on the property.

If you oppose the rezoning request if anything other than a hotel is developed on the property or if you oppose the rezoning request for any reason, please consider signing this petition to inform the Board of Commissioners of the public's interest.

Residents in the area have spoken in opposition to rezoning the property from Single Family Residential (6 acres) and Agricultural (51 acres) to Multi-Family Residential (RM-3). The majority of residents speaking in opposition own properties zoned Single Family Residential that are within 1,000 feet of the proposed hotel. A few residents speaking in opposition live in Multi-Family Residential properties in the area; however, those were developed prior to 2007 under Planned Development zoning requirements which specify the details of the conditions for each development.

RM3 should not be acceptable period, with or without any conditions, RM3 goes against the Future Land Use map that was approved by the county and they should adhere to them. So, if they're going to force it down our throats, then at least protect us from being hoodwinked. Just not right!

Rezoning without conditions is a recipe for disappointment. County Commission officials are elected to represent the citizens of their district and it isn’t likely that the citizens want the developer or a future developer to have unlimited discretion and control of an area that changes the adopted land use plan.

I am opposed to this rezoning as put forth by the applicants. This proprty is zoned AG1 and R1 and is surroubded by R1 properties. The proper zoning for this should be R1. I am all ofr reasonable grwoth in the county and these applicants are anything but reasonable.

The intersection of Collis Road and Wards Chapel is already a dangerous intersection with a blind hill to turn onto Collis Road. Not knowing what hotel chain is backing the project is suspect. If everything is above board, transparency should be easy.

I live in a sub-division within a couple of miles of the proposed location and also feel the creation of such a facility would be detrimental to our area of single family homes and devalue our property both in the short and long term. It would also create a quality of life issue for all surrounding neighborhoods.

My wife's family have been residents directly across from the proposed development for 25 years. As a father to small children, I am concerned this rezoning will cause unsafe lake traffic in the small cove.

I oppose this petition as this is a short sighted endeavor, not really benefiting the residents of Putnam County.

This is not a commercial area and we would like to keep it that way. The litter in our area is already terrible it will get so much worse if businesses come in
