Blood saves lives. It’s as simple as that. So why are openly gay men still banned from donating blood? The FDA continues to classify homosexual males as a higher threat even though all donations undergo thorough screening for diseases before being distributed. There’s no need to continue unwarranted exclusion.
Everyone deserves the right to make a difference regardless of being gay or straight. Sign this petition and help end discrimination. Blood is equal.

We will send the following letter to the US FDA:

Blood saves lives. What we want is simple.
Openly gay men should not be banned from donating blood. Especially when there are constant blood shortages in the United States.
Homosexual males should not be classified as a higher threat. All donations undergo thorough screening for diseases before being distributed.
A lifetime ban from blood donations is excessive and discriminatory. There is no need to continue unwarranted exclusion.
We believe that blood is equal, and everyone deserves the right to make a difference regardless of being gay or straight.
