Games Workshop - reverse the sacking of Thomas Parrott

We the undersigned (members of the Black Library Nutters Buy & Sell page - Facebook) - petition yourselves to reverse the decision to fire Thomas Parrott.

Thomas has done nothing but stand up for what is right, by calling out toxicity and hatred that festers in our community. You yourselves posted a short time ago espousing the same viewpoint, and for you to fire Thomas now for daring to do the same is a 180 degree reversal of everything you stated.

We won't tolerate that toxic fanbase either and our group is mercifully free of those people due to diligence from our admin team. Stand by your words GW, ignore the money, you make plenty as is. Show us you have some morality beneath the corporate machine.

If this is the whole story and I have no issue believing it is, this is just plain unacceptable. How fitting that one of the latest releases from Black Library is called Soulless Fury. Could be considered foreshadowing for well deserved fury about the soulless lip-service of a greedy corporation without any shred of integrity. I'd say I'm disappointed, but I'm not, I pretty much expected the last official statement of GW to be a completely empty PR stunt, but it's still sad to see my excpectation seems to have been right.

GW should not have removed an author who directly challenged those members of the community who are homophobic, racist and fascist.

For a company that recently posted a statement claiming there was no place for fascists, homophobes or racists in the community, it is shocking and very disappointing to see someone fired for standing up against fascism. Many people accused Games Workshop of of hollow “virtue signalling” when the statement was posted, and at the time I disagreed with them. But as they say, actions speak louder than words, and your actions have shown your words were hollow. If you’re more concerned about keeping the business of the racists, fascists and homophobes, as it would appear from these actions, perhaps it’s time to switch my hobby spending to FFG, instead. If you truly believe the statement you made recently in support of BLM, you will rehire him, and publicly apologise and condemn the behaviour he stood up against.
