Nearly one pedestrian injury occurs every 7.5 minutes, but even more alarming almost 12 people are killed daily due to pedestrian/motor vehicle crashes. With this information in mind, we are advocating for bicycle lane on Cambridge Drive in Central, SC, so that extra room maybe provided for pedestrians and bicyclists on this well traveled road.
I walked down Cambridge Drive again this morning and the traffic felt even more dangerous than usual. I am currently gathering photos of the near misses to show the city council exactly how desperate this situation has become for our neighbors.

Seeing this momentum grow across the neighborhood feels surreal since I walk down Cambridge Drive every single day knowing how dangerous it is. This proves that I am not the only person terrified to navigate this road without a dedicated space.

Driving down Cambridge is a nightmare half the time with all the students walking in the road. Needs to be safer for everyone before someone gets really hurt.

Bike lanes are important in any college community. As an avid cyclist, I'd appreciate this a lot.

Amenities such as a walking trail and bike paths add enormous value to a community and in turn drive healthy, active lifestyles. This would be a huge benefit to the Clemson community.
