For the past several months the current Board of Commissioners (3 members) has stated on multiple occasions how they agree that having an expanded board would be beneficial in conducting District business. In that time they have taken no formal discussions even when pressed by involved community members. Being they are not actively pursuing this, and we the people of Big Lake see a need, we are attempting to bypass the Board and have this put on the next Ballot measure for the voting public to decide.

RCW 52.14.015 allows for the people to bypass the Commission by securing signatures from 10% of the voters who placed a vote in the previous general election. With that we only need 121 signatures though it would be more beneficial to secure hundreds more to state our case and why this is needed.
* Signing this petition only means that it will go on the ballot to be voted on by our residents.

The commissioners keep telling us they want an expanded board while refusing to actually bring it up for a vote. My neighbors deserve a fire district that listens to us instead of just stalling behind closed doors.

Seeing this level of support confirms that our community absolutely refuses to be sidelined on fire district safety anymore. The momentum we have built together proves that our neighbors care just as deeply about this board expansion as I do.
