Final supporters
Whereas beach volleyball is a sport increasing in popularity and was named an Olympic sport in 1996; and
Whereas girls beach volleyball became an officially-sanctioned varsity sport in the state of Florida in 2022 and Ponte Vedra High School fielded a varsity team that won a district championship despite not having a practice court on campus; and
Whereas there are no public beach volleyball courts in northern St. John's County;
We the undersigned are requesting the installation of 6 permanent beach volleyball courts in or near the Davis Park area.

This is so very needed. The number of colleges Who offer BEACH VOLLEYBALL as an NCAA sport has doubled in the past 5 years!!
Access to sand volleyball courts is lagging far behind the growth of the sport.
The courts are well appreciated , inexpensive and use little space . Thank you ,
Please add lights. And instead of a regular shower add a shower and a faucet for a hose. Much better at getting sand off and uses less water.
We are a beach community. When you go to California there are 100’s of beach nets everywhere. We need more in Florida!!

Although I may not use it being a senior citizen I believe that it would be a great tool for our community to develop athletes to compete in the sport and encourage camaraderie in the community.
