Beach Volleyball is now an established Olympic Sport and is one of the most fun, exciting and recreational activities played on countless beaches around the world – well we want to bring one to North Essex!
We are busy working with Sport England and Colchester Borough Council to build the first two beach volleyball courts in North Essex, but in order for us to receive funding, we must show that we have the support of the local community.
We are proposing that two Beach Volleyball courts are built at the University of Essex Colchester campus. This facility will be freely accessible to the community with a range of come and try sessions, workplace and family days out, and also other sport offers including: beach fitness sessions, beach football, beach tennis, beach rugby and beach frisbee!

Would be great for us in the ultimate Frisbee club as beach is one of our pitch types!
Finally! This would be hugely beneficial. The sand pit would be in huge demand from local clubs. It could also be used for fitness sessions!
A local facility like this would be a great extension to the work we do in the 6th form college and i'm sure it would be used by us throughout the year
This would increase the volleyball profile in the area and complement the success that Tendring and Essex are seeing with indoor volleyball.
A beach volleyball will be perfect especially during the spring and summer months. Essex is a renowned dry area and the court would be utilized throughout these months. It would also link in with green exercise. This would complement our fantastic outdoor activities that we currently offer e.g. Frisbee golf
I would love to see this happen.

In my home town (Brighton) the beach volleyball courts are also used and popular. I would believe it would be similar here. These courts have been artificially constructed (beach rocks mostly) and would follow the same pattern here.
