Final supporters
Who else is fed up with the Bats in our Yamanto community! The increasing numbers are getting out of hand! Who else can not leave windows open due to the noise & putrid smell, or leave washing on the line? Who else feels they can't have a backyard party in fear of guests having to deal with this or leave their kids playing happily while they fly overhead? Who else can not leave cars out of garages & whose house is being vandalised from above? Well it's time to have our views listening to & taken seriously!
It's time to stand united as ONE because if we don't, the issues will be of greater concern in the future whether it be due to health problems, erosion from trees dying off or damage to our houses in general because of the long term issue! No one understands how hard it is to clean up constantly after these animals! After all, the ones who choose not to listen or have views on the matter don't have them living on their doorstep!
The skies are blackened by the numbers for between 20 & 30 minutes morning & night but the flyover happens for much more time & the noise is deafening before take off & when they arrive back in the early hours of the morning. The constant droppings are endless & like TAR! It eats into the paint on our cars & on our houses. It covers our newly concreted driveways & our children's play equipment. Oh & when it rains...the smell is revolting!
Enough is enough! Our homes are being destroyed & depreciated in value! Our lives are being taken over & dictated to by these animals! There has to be a solution. We need to come up with one together! The BATS have rights, why don't we?

We hit a massive milestone that proves the Yamanto community is done playing games with this bat infestation. The council can no longer pretend this is just a minor nuisance when so many of us are living in filth. It is time for them to stop ignoring our ruined driveways and toxic air.

We have lived here over 40 years & we are very concerned for the long-term health of our grandkids living right beneath the colony. Enough is enough!
Bats are destroying my house , my sleep and I'm worried for disease my children will catch from touching there toys etc from being out side or fruit that's left from the mango trees in neighbours yard. My dog is going crazy and having anxiety from them flying over and hanging in trees and the noise.
Bats all throught tbe easement from Deebing Creek Rd to Sandalwood Drive. Even in the low lying trees in peoples front yards. If you wslk late night you almost get a bat fly straight into you. Very dangerous.
Get rid of them, the noise is ridiculous, they are costing ppl thousands of dollars in damages, resulting from their faeces destroying the paint on resident houses and cars they are destroying my fruit trees.
If this smell and distruction was coming from a privately owned farm, business or residents and this many people were upset and asking for help. You would have no problem going in and fining someone. The issue here seems to be that you don't profit from it. I know there's more to it. I have attended meetings and had discussions etc I just don't understand why it can't simply be that you find them a better place. Or let the residents whom are affected do something about it......
This bat problem needs to come under control. There are people out there that say the bats are great and fantastic, to those people I say you have no idea what it is like to live near a bat colony. Just sit back and think about it for a minute, if the bats aren't bought under control with the abundance of food in our community such as mango and fruits trees and palm tree nuts it won't be long before they come in plague proportions like grasshoppers. Think about it, 30 years ago, the only colony I knew of was on an island at Indooroopilly. Now, there are colonies everywhere. It is only a matter of time, God forbid, you or someone you love will have a colony at the back of their house and I guarantee you that your signature will be here too. They really are, in these plague proportions an absolute menace!
They are noisy smelly and worry about desease from their droppings which are all over our driveway shad sales. I am concerned about our dogs and cat.

Noise of the bats keeps my daughter up every night. Have to keep the back of the house shut up to reduce the noise, otherwise we couldnt even hear the tv. On hot nights this is unbearable.
