Barrie CaribFest has been cancelled again... do to burdensome regulations, stipulations and unnecessary requirements. Does this smack of racism and injustice? It sure does, as none of the other festivals have been requested this level of compliance...is this racism because it is a black culture, we certainly think so. Caribfest 2011 was a resounding success, well run, no violence reported and so much community joy and fun. The organizers of Caribfest 2013 where not informed until Thursday July 18th 2013 that they would not be granted a permit, leaving no time for rebuttal. This is the second time the city has denied this festival. We wont have it, Barrie needs to gEt out of the dark ages and show some respect for our multi-cultural diversity and provide opportunities to grow and expand awareness and understanding. Do you want to see a Caribfest in Barrie if so RISE UP TO THIS INJUSTICE AND SIGN TODAY...THANKS
