In 2012 the working party, “Barnetby Field Group”, assembled by the Parish Council, sent out questionnaires to all households in the village. The results showed the majority of villagers (71%) wished to see the playground re-developed as the priority.

Whilst it has been wonderful to see the developments on the recreational field the Parish Council have so far neglected to take these results into account and in the past 5 years the playground has entered into a worst state of repair.

Recent minutes from the Parish Council/Trustee to the Recreational Field have implied that they have secured funding for the 0-5 zone, including a pledge of £12,850 from Barnetby Under Fives. However they are now proposing to use this funding to re-develop the 6+ zone with, as yet, no publicised guarantee or time frame for the upgrade 0-5 zone of the playground.

We the undersigned demand that the Parish Council/Trustee to the Recreational Field re-develops the village playground as a whole project. If funding is unavailable for the whole project then we demand that the Parish Council/Trustee to the Recreational Field keeps to its original plan and prioritises the re-development of the 0-5 zone.
