This petition calls for the FDA, USDA, and other U.S. Governmental entities to ban the use of what the USDA calls "Lean Beef Trimmings," known to the public as "Pink Slime." Pink slime is "washed" with ammonium hydroxide to kill pathogens and is comprised of connective tissue and meat scraps. Corporations, such as McDonald's and Taco Bell have banned this meat from being served in their restaurants and the U.K. has banned it for human consumption.
