FDA Should Ban Melamine From Infant Formula

Recently, the FDA has found traces of melamine in infant formula sold in the United States. The FDA has previously been unable to come up with ANY traceable amount that is safe for human consumption, yet allows companies to continue producing the tainted formula and encouraging parents to keep feeding this poison to their children. This is an outrage. Clearly, the FDA is not looking out for the best interests of our children. This poison in infant formula has killed children in China and sickened thousands more, and we CANNOT allow that to happen in the United States. I call on the FDA to outright BAN the inclusion of melamine, or any of it's relatives such as cyanuric acid in ALL infant formula produced in the United States. I also call for a comprehensive testing of ALL infant formula sold in the united states for melamine. Finally, I call for an IMMEDIATE recall of any formula testing positive for melamine in tests. I believe companies should be held accountible for what they produce for our children. The FDA should impose stiff penalties for ANY company that allows melamine to enter their formula, whether intentional or not.
