Help Support the Broward County Toxic Free Toddler and Baby Act which would ban the use of Bisphenol-A (BPA), a dangerous toxic chemical used in plastics, in baby and toddler products within Broward County. Research shows that BPA causes negative health effects such as cancer, obesity, diabetes, and negative health issues. This is of serious concern since BPA wreaks havoc with the human endocrine system, particularly and most disturbing with that of young children. Other countries, cities, and states, including but not limited to Canada, three NY counties, the City of Chicago, Connecticut, Wisconsin, and Minnesota have similar Toxin Free Toddlers and Baby Acts banning BPA. I am returning to both The Broward County Commission and the Broward League of Cities to again request passage of this very important Act. I had gone before both this past April and was told to present further documentation of my position. In May, I compiled a 432 page BPA manual highlighting the legislative history of the Act, the science research behind the need to ban BPA from independent institutions, and a list of retailers and manufacturers who already support the ban (including Wall-Mart, Whole Foods, and Target). Now, I need your help. Make our elected officials listen and ACT by passing this important piece of legislation. Please help me by showing your support and signing this petition so that we can protect our babies and young children from this toxic chemical. Then, pass this petition to your friends, colleagues, and family for them to sign. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!! Thank you!!!

Ridiculous that this is even a debate. Why are we letting companies put poison in bottles meant for infants? Pass this now.

BPA is linked to so many health issues it should have been gone years ago. Get it out of broward county stores.

My kids grew up with this stuff and its scary to think about what was actually in their sippy cups. Stop using bpa already.

Why is this taking so long? If other states can do it why are we dragging our feet here in broward. THINK OF THE KIDS.
