We are calling on UAE authorities to implement strict bans on single-use plastics and littering in parks and green areas, fostering a cleaner, healthier environment for all.

• Health and Cleanliness: Littering creates unsafe, unsanitary conditions in public areas, directly impacting the quality of life for residents.

We urge the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) and UAE authorities to:

1. Ban single-use plastics such as bags, straws, utensils, and bottles across the UAE.
2. Ban littering in parks, green spaces, and all public areas, with strict penalties for violators.
3. Promote the use of sustainable alternatives like reusable bags, biodegradable materials, and refillable bottles.
4. Implement awareness campaigns to educate residents on the importance of not littering and the impact of plastic pollution.
5. Provide incentives for businesses and residents adopting eco-friendly practices, including better waste management in public spaces.

The UAE has already made strides in reducing plastic pollution, but more needs to be done. By banning single-use plastics and introducing strict anti-littering regulations in public spaces, we can:

• Protect our beaches, parks, and deserts from harmful waste.
• Ensure clean, safe, and beautiful spaces for residents and tourists.
• Improve the health of our wildlife and ecosystems, particularly in the Arabian Gulf.

Countries around the world have successfully implemented similar measures, reducing waste and promoting a culture of responsibility. The UAE can continue to lead by example in environmental protection and sustainability.
