Single-use plastic items are the plastics that we dispose of after using them only once like sachet, food packaging, plastic cutleries, plastic bags, bottles, etc. This lacks repeated usage of the item and posing a serious threat to our health & environment. These one-time used plastics are dumped in the landfills and the oceans which are affecting us severely. It disrupts the ecological balance of the environment. The marine life consumes the plastic, and break it into microplastic and store them in their tissues. When we consume seafood, it enters our body, leading to the accumulation of harmful non-biodegradable substances in our bodies. This leads to diseases or disorders. When the plastic waste is dumped on land, it makes the land uncultivatable and needs high usage of chemicals. This affects the normal functionality of our bodies. So, it can be concluded that these single-use plastic items are the major reason for our ecological imbalance our health degradation.
It's time we save our ecosystem by simply using eco-friendly products instead. For example, we can bring our reusable cloth bags when we are going shopping rather than using plastic bags. We need to make a stand today!
Bangladesh was one of the very first speakers against plastic and polythene. ESDO takes pride in its role as it was the first organization in 1990 to conduct comprehensive research into the adverse effects of the production and use of polythene in Bangladesh. As a relentless vocal against Plastic, ESDO has fulfilled its duty even in the global pandemic. A study has been conducted by ESDO about how COVID-19 Pandemic influencing Single-Use Plastic Waste Outbreak from the beginning of lockdown. Before that, ESDO’s other groundbreaking feature on plastic waste was on the use of Plastic Lamination in Posters and Leaflets. This petition is another angle of light on this battle against plastic, especially single-use plastic.

been reading through all the stories people are posting about how much plastic trash they see in their own neighborhoods and it honestly breaks my heart. im working on putting together a list of local shops that have already switched to better options so we can start showing them some love.

Microplastics can be found in our drinking water, rain water, honey, fetuses and etc. Our parents and grandparents lived without single use plastic and we can too.
We need to control the use and dumping of non degradable plastics. Need to create awareness in the general mass
Ban single-use plastic. Singe-use plastics get disposed of after just using ONE time. These plastic products degrade the environment in so many ways. It's also harmful for living beings. Animals consume these non-degradable plastic which is really toxic for them. Those toxic plastic bioaccumulate in marine species and those toxic plastics go up in the food chain and eventually becomes even more harmful for us. So, having these single-use plastics banned, will make the environment a better place for us.
Generally plastic spoil the fertility of soil. We have to stop using plastic and starting to use cloth's bag, jute bag etc. over plastic bag, if we want a healthy environment surrounding us.
Make people aware about this. invent some substitute of plastic and make those more available and cheap all over the country..
Let's stand against plastic.
