Final supporters
We ask this due to the high volume of films that make our block their home throughout the year;
-Creating difficulties for the two buildings housing people with disabilities
-Creating unhealthy fumes for residents due to idling trucks and generators
-Creating a noisy atmosphere and interrupting sleep of residents
-Creating loss of uncompensated parking for residents
-Causing damage to trees on the block
It is for these reasons that we urge a permanent ban on Film Permits on East Fifth Street between 2nd Avenue and Cooper Square.

Those mammoth sized film trailers have been destroying the branches of our lovely block's trees for years. Our sidewalks are far too narrow to accomodate all the cables and snack tables and equipment that film crews bring. Enough already!

The last time there was a shoot--just a few weeks ago--a generator powering one of the trucks was operating continuously, through the day and into the night, spewing toxic fumes into my building's lobby, the ground floor apartments and into the air we all breathe. No more film shoot permits, please!
