Please help stop the "Legal Sale" of consumer fireworks. Why sell something that cannot be used "Legally" in over 90% of our state! Governor Jan Brewer made a HUGE mistake signing this bill into law. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when these fireworks will start a major fire somewhere or a get a child burned by one of these things. I'm all about freedom, and celebrate our Independence Day by leaving it to the experts. Has our entire Arizona Government forgotten that we live in a DRY desert region with a DRY FOREST just to our north? We currently have several wildfires in our state that are “under investigation” and most likely human caused. Could any of these be the result of illegally used fireworks? We don’t know yet, but it cannot be ruled out until the investigation is completed. Think of it like the sale of alcohol. People know that it is illegal to drive intoxicated but people still do it, and we know humans don't always make the right choices. It will be no different with consumer fireworks, which unlike alcohol; we can help put an end to a potential disaster. It is going to happen, whether it is a major forest fire or a burn injury! People will break the law and will continue to do so until something or someone gets hurt, or we lose a forest, a house, or even worse, A LIFE! It’s just not worth the risk! Please sign this “BAN THE SALE OF CONSUMER FIREWORKS IN ARIZONA” petition. Thanks for your time, your help, and here’s a chance to reverse this most insane, and dangerous bill ever put into law in our fine, yet dry desert climate. God bless Arizona. Sincerely, A Concerned Arizona Firefighter

I support this position for veterans, anyone with PTSD, people and animals sensitive to loud noises, and the dangers of illegally setting off fireworks that leave the ground despite county ordinances

Hot summers = dry plants = kindling in everyone's yard. Not worth the risk. I'm tired of having my dogs shaking and terrified and afraid to go outside to pee for hours upon hours. The practice of blowing off fireworks on every holiday is foolish, ridiculous, dangerous and selfish, and it needs to stop.

Consumer fireworks need to be banned. As Maricopa County itself noted, air quality is worse for days after fireworks. People now feel free to set off illegal fireworks too because they’re less likely to be caught. Many dogs go missing because of consumer fireworks. Please stop this.

We are a dry environment and do not need fireworks. They are used irresponsibly within city limits where they are illegal. Stop selling them when they can't be used. Makes NO sense. There are too many people setting them off for days and long hours. It is beyond ridiculous.

WHY allow them to be sold here when they are illegal to be USED here? This makes no sense! I'm so sick of all the LOST PETS ads that result from fireworks frightening dogs and causing grief to humans with PTSD. BAN CONSUMER FIREWORKS SALES.

Stop the neighborhood fireworks! Take it to a designated location in Pinal County or an open football field or whatever is designated. It starts every year around 8pm and doesn't stop until 1 or 2am. Forth of July and New Year's Eve are out of control. Plus the litter is left behind in the street and in private property yards.
