Please help stop the "Legal Sale" of consumer fireworks. Why sell something that cannot be used "Legally" in over 90% of our state! Governor Jan Brewer made a HUGE mistake signing this bill into law. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when these fireworks will start a major fire somewhere or a get a child burned by one of these things. I'm all about freedom, and celebrate our Independence Day by leaving it to the experts. Has our entire Arizona Government forgotten that we live in a DRY desert region with a DRY FOREST just to our north? We currently have several wildfires in our state that are “under investigation” and most likely human caused. Could any of these be the result of illegally used fireworks? We don’t know yet, but it cannot be ruled out until the investigation is completed. Think of it like the sale of alcohol. People know that it is illegal to drive intoxicated but people still do it, and we know humans don't always make the right choices. It will be no different with consumer fireworks, which unlike alcohol; we can help put an end to a potential disaster. It is going to happen, whether it is a major forest fire or a burn injury! People will break the law and will continue to do so until something or someone gets hurt, or we lose a forest, a house, or even worse, A LIFE! It’s just not worth the risk!
