Dallas Fort Worth Maharashtra Mandal has been a part of our lives for many years. We can credit some fond memories and lasting friendships to our Mandal.

Over the past several years our Mandal has grown leaps and bound. This year we now have a newly appointed and elected team of Board of Advisors, which was a great achievement by the committee and members.

However, this year we as a member, are facing a big challenge of electing the President and Executive committee for 2021-22.

Until now this process has been very streamlined, and the leaders have emerged gradually through the previous year serving committee.

Not only this election will create a divide in the community but also add an unnecessary expense ($$$$-the funds could be put to good use instead).

Let us sign this petition to stop the elections.

मराठा तितुका मेळवावा, महाराष्ट्र धर्म वाढवावा !

Why not have an election as long as the mandal bylaws are upheld. We are in a democratic country. Why can't same be applied to DFWMM? This kind of petition seems to be a pressure tactic to get withdrawal of the other candidate and in fact makes the waters murkier!

Let’s all work together for our community irrespective of who our volunteer leads are on the committee. Nominations for these volunteer positions were requested and should be addressed as per the constitution - which states that elections should be held when we have multiple nominees for a position. A copy of the constitution is on the mandal website. I would encourage everyone to read it. This should not cause a divide. On the contrary, we should feel fortunate that we have a robust pool of volunteers that want to step up and serve selflessly.

I believe this election shows discrepancy and differences in Marathi mandal which is not good for this community. Lets not divide this community by election instead lets work together . Whoever wants to get the work done can do it without any presidentship or any other post and still be in the committee. Everyone will have their fair chance as per the process . So their is no need of any election or any post and still can work or volunteer in the community as per the process. As a member of this community we only want mandal to be active and good programs and activities every year.

No need of election, it’s damaging our Marathi Manus image overseas and proving that we are not United at all and history is getting repeated

Its very clear and obvious that person who has worked actively in mandal past year deserves to be the president this year. There is no need for election, unless both candidates are equally qualified in terms of work done in mandal last year. Else, its a waste of time and money. Who is bearing election cost?

Tradition of many years to choose the president from the sunsetting committee avoids the divide. There is no reason for the election.
