While this petition calls for avoiding rift and divide, it actually has opposite effect because it is a pressure tactic to have a nominee withdraw. Clearly, the originators of this petition are worried about their chances in a fair election. This campaign has so many repeat and fake signors to increase the numbers! This was totally unnecessary and has achieved nothing other than leaving a bad taste.

All DFWMM members should have received the note below from the DFWMM Board of Advisors. I am just copying it verbatim below for the benefit of anyone that may not have seen it “Namaskar Mandali, A petition "DFWMM Members Petition - Let's not divide the community by Presidential Elections" is circulating in the social media circles which refers to DFWMM and its Members. DFWMM as an organization is not associated with the originator of this petition and does not endorse any views and objectives mentioned in the petition. It has been started by individuals in their personal capacity and should be treated as such. We request the originator to: • Remove DFWMM name and reference to Members • Not ask for DFWMM Member E-Mail • Disassociate DFWMM as an organization from the petition Thank You, DFWMM Board of Advisors”

I believe this election shows discrepancy and differences in Marathi mandal which is not good for this community. Lets not divide this community by election instead lets work together . Whoever wants to get the work done can do it without any presidentship or any other post and still be in the committee. Everyone will have their fair chance as per the process . So their is no need of any election or any post and still can work or volunteer in the community as per the process. As a member of this community we only want mandal to be active and good programs and activities every year.

Looks like a lot of fake ids just to increase numbers. Some ip addresses are from India so seems people who have no clue are signing this petition. This petition needs to be removed as it is against the bylaws of dfwmm. We have reported this already

There is no need for an election for an organization the size of DFWMM. There are more down sides to doing this than benefits.

Why is this election portrayed as dividing the community. Why not look at it as enthusiasm to volunteer? Let people choose, then we unite and work for OUR mandal under new leadership. This is small scale but would same people saying no election support Trump who wanted to stay on?

Why not have an election as long as the mandal bylaws are upheld. We are in a democratic country. Why can't same be applied to DFWMM? This kind of petition seems to be a pressure tactic to get withdrawal of the other candidate and in fact makes the waters murkier!

No need of election, it’s damaging our Marathi Manus image overseas and proving that we are not United at all and history is getting repeated

Its very clear and obvious that person who has worked actively in mandal past year deserves to be the president this year. There is no need for election, unless both candidates are equally qualified in terms of work done in mandal last year. Else, its a waste of time and money. Who is bearing election cost?
