We seek to institute Video Game Art & Design, Graphic Design as well as all other digital base courses with the following items for our starter kits to be all inclusive within our tuition and or, added monthly bills. We are also looking to acquire the following items for our case specific program courses.

Starter Kits to include: Based upon individual student need (1)Macbook or PC laptop (student choice) (1)500 GB external hardrive (1)Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Student Edition for Mac or PC (Again student preference) (1)Lexar 32 GB Professional 600x SDHC UHS-I Card

Additional school resources to include: eVOLUTION – Professional 3D Printer or Microsoft 3D Printers Cintiq lab linked up with Mac/PC computers Print process lab to include (1) Canon imagePrograf iPF8300 Large-Format Inkjet Printer

In response to the potential cost of the starter kit please do consider the 90+ thousands of dollars students are already indebting themselves to, roughly 1200 dollars more is really just a drop in the bucket.

Updates

The emails I receive from students struggling to afford these basic tools confirm that the institution is ignoring a massive financial and educational burden. I am currently compiling these personal accounts to present to the administration even though the current lack of transparency from their office is exhausting. Dealing with this level of apathy is draining but the struggle for equitable access to our own coursework remains necessary.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you feel the weight of these unnecessary costs just as heavily as I do. It is exhausting to keep pushing against an institution that ignores these burdens but your response gives me a reason to stay in this fight.

Seriously it is a joke that we pay so much in tuition and still have to shell out thousands for gear on top of it. Give us the tools we need to actually get jobs after graduation.

I really need this. Trying to keep up with the coursework on a five year old laptop is nearly impossible.

Schools are robbing us blind and then expecting us to provide our own heavy equipment. Do the right thing and include this in our tuition.
