We are so thankful that COVID restrictions are lifting. Our children have had an eventful Middle School experience; one that many of us could never have imagined! They are finally Middle School upperclassmen yet it’s their first time experiencing a full year of in-person learning. They are resilient and brave, having missed so much of what Middle School is about - things like dances, 3 years of in-person learning with no masks, and face-to-face interaction with their friends. All of this compromise was required because of a world-wide pandemic.

We know that parents are feeling excited and somewhat melancholy about their child's graduation. It’s just around the corner! As of now, the Administrators of the Middle Schools of Troy School District are leaning toward a virtual graduation. Virtual has made sense the past two years when restrictions were heightened and enforced. However, since the district has released the restrictions, we need to give back what our children and families need, deserve and miss. The 8th Graders deserve to experience an in-person graduation and to feel pride in their accomplishments.

Please help us get "back to normal” - please sign your name as preferring an in-person graduation ceremony.

Hopefully, together as parents and guardians, we can make our children's 8th grade ceremony monumental.
