This has been a difficult year especially for our Seniors who have spent the majority of their year in virtual instruction or have had limited contact with their classmates and teachers due to COVID. The typical activities have been almost nonexistent. As things are looking better with the health crisis - cases significantly reducing, record numbers of people being vaccinated and restrictions beginning to be lifted and our children are going back to school 4-5 days a week, the Senior Class Parents feel we can safely host a prom for our children. Our plan is to submit a request to rent the Clay Community Center Ballrooms from the Montgomery County School Board for our “Parent Sponsored” Senior Prom. We are gathering signatures of Montgomery County Kentucky Senior Parents and community members that are supportive of this activity to submit to the MOCO Board of Education when we submit our rental request for approval.
We only have a few days to get this accomplished - we truly appreciate your help supporting our Senior Class of 2021 by signing this petition.
I have been hearing from so many of you who just want our seniors to have one final moment of normalcy before they graduate. My heart breaks thinking about everything they have already missed but I am working behind the scenes to make sure the school board understands how important this night is for our kids.

My son missed out on so much this year and watching these signatures climb toward one hundred makes me believe we can actually pull this prom off for our kids. Please post this link to your social media pages right now so we can hit that mark before I take our request to the board.

As a senior, every high schooler, and ever little girl DREAMS of prom. picking out a dress, getting to go to one of the LAST senior events. the Last event to be with ur classmates and the chance to enjoy the night. Prom is important to us, at least let us have that.

I’ve been completely virtual this year, and I just want to experience something. I hope this pulls through, as I don’t know anybody. I’m a new student at a big new school in the middle of Corona.

If sporting events are allowed this should be allowed as well. Our seniors have missed out on so much this year it would be nice to give them something normal in their senior year.

These Seniors need to be able to have some fun. It would be a great step toward helping them recover socio-emotionally.
