Final supporters
The 2016 AQA Biology Unit 1 Exam had very little Biology in it. There wasn't anything mentioned about things such as: Hormones, menstrual cycle, pathogens, etc.
One of the questions actually said 'What is an independent company?' - I'm pretty sure this is business, not Biology!
Many students have taken to Twitter and we are now being said that we are just 'being irresponsible children' or 'overreacting' or we 'should have revised harder' - but the actual problem is the exam itself. We are given a specification to learn and we learn and memorise it, for the paper to then ask me something completely random! To be honest I am very upset as I revised so much for this exam and I was extremely proud of myself that I knew almost all of B1 off by heart but to then probably get a low mark because of the idiotic questions asked! And the fact that so many people were complaining on social media just shows we aren't 'overreacting' as it is pretty much half of the country! We can't all be the same!
So please sign this petition to help us all out a little bit.

My daughter sat this exam, they all left the exam room' saying what was that' some were in tears. Fortunately my daughter has put it behind her and won't let it interfere with the rest of her exams - many students however will feel seriously undermined by this.
AGA need to be bought to task for the irrelevance of exam material against syllabus as they have a duty of care to students and government to maintain a standard. OFQUAL SHOULD INVESTIGATE again!
I spent so long revising over the menstrual cycle. Being a male, it is harder for us to remember the details and the functions of each hormone but I managed to remember it all and for them to turn around and ask me 'What is an independent company?' is completely outrageous.
So upset that I revised so hard only for the 6 mark question to be on having a healthy diet. Excuse me while I go learn how to sew on a button for chemistry.
Almost the whole paper had nothing to do with the specification we were set by AQA for B1!! Many of us have spent a lot of time revising and 5 years of lessons to be asked on business questions, drunk teens, rats and snails!! RAGING!!!
Basic knowledge is most important - why questions that are not related !
Well gutted had revised to find hardly any biology

I spent all year revising Biology topics. To my surprise when I had finished the exam my headteacher had looked through a paper and had told us that only "9/44 topics" in Biology came up! I am absolutely livid.
