Dr. Keith Candiotti has humbly served the University of Miami and our Department of Anesthesiology for over 32 years. He has fulfilled the roles of Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of Clinical Research, Executive Vice Chair and Chief Operating Officer, as well as acting Chairman of our department in 2011-2012. He is an avid researcher with more than 130 published papers, and has helped transform our department and residency program into the academic center that it is today. A seasoned leader, Dr. Candiotti empowers those with whom he works. His communication is transparent and concise. He displays sincere enthusiasm for the University of Miami. His managerial competence is astute and incisive. Most importantly, he is a man of integrity. With the full endorsement of our past chair, David Lubarsky, MD, we are fortunate that he has been named Interim Chair of our Department. Seeing this level of support for Keith is honestly surreal because it reminds me of how much he has done for all of us over these three decades (which is really a lifetime in medicine) and it confirms that everyone sees the same integrity in his leadership that I do. We really have some actual momentum now and it feels like the right people are finally starting to pay attention to what we have known all along.

YES! Dr Candiotti is the best leader we've had here. Keep him on permanently!
After working with him for years I can say there is nobody better suited for this role. Give him the chair position.
Fully behind this. He knows the dept better than anyone and has the respect of the staff.
There will be no other candidate as qualified and appropriate as Dr Candiotti to lead our department and the medical school into the future. I strongly recommend him for this well deserved and earned position.
