We the undersigned, support Anne Mitchell as the CIR representative for Jacobi Medical Center. Anne Mitchell has been instrumental in anything we have accomplished at Jacobi Medical Center. She knows the Jacobi System inside and out. In her time at Jacobi, she has initiated regular GME meetings so that resident concerns can be properly addressed to our administration. She has also been on the forefront of any budget negotiations that we have attempted – all with successful results. Most importantly, Anne possesses that intangible quality where she is able to connect with everyone involved in the discussion of resident rights and patient care, including top hospital administrators, department heads, residency program coordinators and directors, and of course the residents. She has a constant presence here at Jacobi, so that even non-CIR residents that rotate at Jacobi know who she is. Her relationship with and knowledge of the key players at Jacobi is a key asset in any endeavors in our future. Re-assigning Anne Mitchell at a critical time could have deleterious effects. HHC is looking to decrease their budget and is considering downsizing residency programs in part of that process. We cannot go through a difficult time of transition like this without Anne Mitchell as our representative. Please don’t reassign her from Jacobi Medical Center.
