We had drawn up this petition yesterday, and wanted to send it to you to show that we support the decision to end Apple Chill. This was a very responsible decision- thank you! We, the citizens of Chapel Hill, petition the city to end all future \"Apple Chill\" festivals. This festival has become noisy, disruptive, and dangerous as it often results in some sort of violence. Streets and the university campus are often clogged with traffic throughout the day and and into the night after \"Apple Chill\" has officially ended. Private apartment complexes and driveways suddenly become public parking lots for festival attendees. The \"arts & crafts,\" entertainment, and food focus of the festival has been overshadowed by \"cruising\" and gang-related activity. This festival has become a serious nuisance to anyone who lives here and a disgrace to our city.

Thank you!! The traffic is a nightmare and my porch gets trashed every single year. Enough is enough.

Totally agree. It is just not safe to walk around downtown anymore when all those people are cruising everywhere.

Finally. It used to be a nice event years ago but now I refuse to leave my house when it is going on. Glad it is done.

ABOUT TIME. I couldn't get out of my own driveway last year because some random person parked their car right in front of it.

Glad to see this gone. The violence and the mess left behind is just too much. Chapel Hill deserves better.
