A proposal from United People’s Alliance-Civil Organisation
Instead of completely closing down the 27 schools in WC, Provincial government could have converted it into sudsidised skills schools. Our youth are the presently disadvantaged as there no monies in their family for tertiary education...our neighbours, friends and family can all build, tile, paint and constuct but have no proper qualifications. How about Trade test Centres?
What about "Back to school" programmes for adults, school drop-outs? ex-(petty)offenders? ? Driving schools? Cooking schools? Who knows if the next International chef is not from Mitchells Plain,Langa or Bishop Lavis. Why not AIDS,TB or Homebased care workshops for the public of those areas?Department of Education offices and cancell those expensive leases on buildings?
The list goes on and on.This is a chance to educate our people and alleviate the poverty of our people! Why take away the schools completely if there is a secondary and identified benefit to the public?
UNITED PEOPLES ALLIANCE -BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE.
PLEASE DONT CLOSE THEM! We need these centers in our own neighborhoods instead of having to travel so far for nothing. Dont take away our future.

This is a great idea. Why throw away buildings when we actually need skills training so badly? Stop wasting these resources and help our youth get real jobs.
