The proposed Ajax Mine project threatens to destroy 2,500 hectares of Kamloops' treasured grasslands and divert toxins into Inks lake as well as create a diversion of Peterson Creek which spills directly into the Thompson River. It plans to create a Processing Plant and a 3 km long by a km wide Tailings Storage facility, with a 8 km long and 150 m high wall that will surround toxic waste from the mining operation. Leakage will result in disastrous consequences. This project will consist of 24 hour light, sound and atmospheric pollution for a life expectancy of 23 years.
