Bay Area for a Clean Environment (BACE) To All Agencies that regulate the Lehigh Southwest Cement Company, Cupertino, CA: We the undersigned ask that all current violations of the Lehigh Southwest Cement plant and mining operations be corrected, that as long as the plant operates, new EPA Mercury emissions standards be implemented and directly monitored where emitted into the air via a single stack. We ask for enforcement of the laws and regulations to protect public and environmental health in this region. We are strongly opposed to any new vested rights and expansion of Lehigh in our densely populated community, including the Lehigh proposal for a new over 200 acre open pit mine/quarry creating additional air, water and soil pollution for decades to come.
