This petition is being drafted in order to convince the administration and board of directors at Kiran Patel High School to allow the 5 girls suspended for their behavior at Grad Bash to walk the stage with their peers to receive their diploma.
A 5 day suspension, loss of prom, senior awards breakfast, and clap out is enough! Keeping them from walking the stage is nothing short of humiliation and unjust. Principal Carnell is choosing to define these girls entire 4 years at Patel by a single incident. This is not right or fair. Let them Walk!!!

I’ve heard of similar scenarios happen at this school during their senior year and the students were allowed to walk, they should be allowed to be fair and keep punishment consistent.
This is my niece, who I have witnessed work so hard throughout her academic years of high school. Being a licensed social worker, I understand her impulsive actions that has led to her consequences. But I know deep down and through many discussions and unpacking, she is truly remorseful..
Imagine how you would feel if you were defined by ONE mistake after dedicating years of your life to a school that won’t even hear you out. Graduation is a once in a lifetime experience, and after all the other punishments, this should not have been one of them! Let these girls walk!!!!!!
these are 5 amazing girls who were nothing but involved in making a difference at patel for all 4 years, they have gotten good grades were involved in clubs and had never been in trouble, they deserve to walk the stage and be recognized for all there hard work and dedication.
As a former High school principal, I agree with all the punishments with exception of walking across the stage for graduation. This principal is erasing all the accomplishments the young ladies achieved since kindergarten. That's what a high school graduation represents, the culmination of K-12 achievements. Not just High school.
Let them walk

You have already punished the girls, they have served their time! Why take away this moment although they have already suffered the consequence’s for their actions ? It makes no sense and goes against everything I “thought” PATEL stood for!
