In light of the latest shooting, I am asking for trained teachers and staff in Hays County to have access to a weapon for protection of their students and themselves. The shooter killed 17 and mamed countless others in less than 5 minutes. If we can defend ourselves in our homes and our businesses, we should have that option in our schools, especially in our schools. Not "gun toting" teachers, but well planned strategically placed weapons. Even if we abolish the ability to purchase automatic, semi-automatic, bump stocks, etc...and any other weapon of mass destruction, there are still millions...and I mean millions (the statistics vary) of automatic weapons out there. They can never totally be eradicated. Teachers have a voice; students have a voice; we need to listen. Put yourself in the shoes of one of those teachers. What would you want?
