To whom it may concern: After this latest tragedy in Newtown, CT. we call for our elected officials to create and pass legislation that will provide a real practical solution to the Active shooter/killer problem in our society. We ask that an initiative be started to train, arm and manage a cadre of qualified individuals that will provide rapid response to a deadly force threat in our public schools. These agents can come from within the staff of the schools or from without. These agents can be similar in scope to pre-9/11 Air Marshals or the current Federal Flight Deck Officer program. These individuals could be volunteers from the teachers, principals or staff. These agents can work with the School Resource Officers to ensure there is real time viable protection for our school children within seconds, not minutes. We ask due diligence in this matter.
