*PLEASE only juniors sign this, and please use your first and last name. Thank you.*

At the beginning of the year, juniors and seniors learned that the school would not be allowing them to continue using physical portfolios and that they would have to switch to electronic. This was changed for the seniors, but the juniors are still expected to complete electronic portfolios. This is not fair. The school stresses how important these portfolios are, and switching over to a new format could hurt the quality of the product as it is tedious and new to us. It would be so much easier if the school would allow us to continue creating our portfolios until we graduate, and continue the electronic system with the class of 2018, who have already begun the electronic portfolio format.

Updates

September 23, 2015

The administration thought they could force this shift on us without a fight but they were dead wrong. The swell of support proves the school board cannot ignore our demand for a fair transition. We are keeping the pressure on until they give us back our creative control.

I agree that it would be easier to allow us to continue the format of physical portfolios until we have a senior to make it easier and have better quality.

I think that if we switched no one would care about the portfolios. Teachers stress how important they are but if we have to change everything to basically restart it isn't worth it!

It is difficult to be taught one way and transfer to an entire way of thinking part of the way through the process. I could see the electronic portfolios as being an optional path, but it is illogical to make this path required.

I'm quite certain that the decision made to force us to change our portfolios to digital did not take into account what the class actually thought about the portfolios. Making decisions that will change a monumental item within a certain graduating class should usually be taken up with the actual class in question. -Ben P.

I think it's pointless and will be harder to start an online portfolio when we already have two years of work in the physical one. It's pointless to keep two portfolios.

I don't think it makes sense that we started off with physical ones and have to finish with the electronic ones.

It would be much easier and make more sense if we keep with the physical portfolio, rather than switch to electronic.
