SLRD has refused to allow BBCiderworks to open for business stating there is to be no new business of any kind in Britannia until the Tunnel Dam project is undertaken by the Province.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to allow BBCiderworks to open under the Grandfather clause which the other local enterprises are able to operate.

Updates

August 13, 2014

The momentum behind this petition is now undeniable. This growing support reinforces our position that local enterprises deserve fair treatment under the existing regulations.

The facility renovated by Mr Menu for the store front of the BBC is tasteful and in consistent style with the heritage feels of the area. In no way is it a bar or pub but a store offering premium draft cider. Promoting Brittania Breach is one if it's objectives. Allow it to open.

With so many other businesses operating in the vicinity, it makes no sense to deny the addition of the ciderhouse. Especially given that my understanding is the initial permits were approved. To give the go-ahead and then pull the plug after $$ has been spent is poor form, to say the least.

It's plain and simple. If there are already other businesses operating then why not another?. If this matter is such of a concern for new businesses what does it say about their feelings towards exsisting ones?.

This seems like a power play by the SLRD. The buildings have occupied the space for 10 decades and businesses are still operating adjacent to the site of BBC. If there is such a threat from Tunnel Dam why have steps not been taken to remediate it. If there is a debris torrent Squamish, Whistler, will be cut off

This would be great for Britannia and for the Sea to Sky corridor! Why halt good, family owned, environmentally responsible business development??

This would be a welcome amenity to all those traveling the Sea to Sky including visitors and locals alike. To deny this application is pure nonsense.

So many new relaxed liquor laws: Make it happen LCB. Apparently still all talk and no action. PS stop doing geological surveys that dont matter, with our tax dollars
