Final supporters
We are creating a petition. As many of you know alot of people in Juda, WI have gotten backyard chicken coops the last few years. We are one of them. We asked township twice for permission and they said it's ok and no regulations against it. A neighbor turned us into the county because they don't like them in our yard. They are in an enclosed coop and run at all times. We have no roosters. The county wants us to move our chickens or we face fines and legal action. The county asked us to turn in everyone in Juda that has chickens and there is no way we are doing that! There are 15-20 other coops in town. We want more than 2 chickens so since we are going to fight we'd like to take a petition with us showing everyone that doesn't mind we have hens in town (even though its an unincorporated township) laying purposes and for our kids 4H. Thank you in advance for signing. Any signatures we can bring are appreciated.

The current level of support provides the leverage needed to challenge the county enforcement stance. My next step involves drafting a formal letter for the township board to clarify our position on zoning and local land use.

We have reached one hundred signatures. I am currently compiling this list to present as evidence during my upcoming meeting with the county zoning board. My next step involves drafting a formal letter that outlines why these hens are a benefit to our local 4H programs.

Everyone should be able to provide their family with fresh food that is free of hormones and god knows what else. It also teaches responsibility and can be a sense of pride for children who can take them to a fair. Don't allow a few people ruin a great thing for families in Juda, WI.
People are so afraid of something different. I have 4 hens and live in a subdivision in a Milwaukee suburb. My neighbors love to bring their kids and grandkids to see the chickens.
I am a former Bureau County resident. These people have no rooster, hence no crowing...no noise. This is ridiculous. Let them have their chickens.
Please allow back yard chickens! As long as they are hens, enclosed in a coop and run and well cared for, there shouldn't be an issue. In Genesee, WI, we just got approval to amend our zoning to allow chickens on properties less than 3 acres.
If it's Only Hens for eggs, 4H, and pets why not? Most other towns all around Juda with any interested allow hens! What better way to teach our children where our food comes from?

This man has had his flock long before these neighbors moved in. He shouldnt loose them rahr they either need to learn to accept the flock or leave. Save small time poultry owners!!!
