This petition was created in order to make the City of Conway, SC City Council and Aldi Corporate aware of safety concerns that the community has about the placement of a proposed Aldi grocery store entrance onto Wild Wing Boulevard.

Items of importance:

  • Wild Wing Blvd is a residential road used by thousands each day to enter and exit their respective neighborhood(s) - The Fairways, Kiskadee Apartments, The Sanctuary, The Aviary, Wild Wing Resort and Wild Wing Lakes.
  • The residents are concerned about:
    • Added traffic
    • Safety and accidents
    • Decline in property values
    • Storm water runoff and drainage
    • Lack of appropriate notice and transparency in the planning process
    • Short-term view for tax money rather than solid long-term planning
  • These concerns extend beyond the immediate Wild Wings Community as this could happen in any residential area. Do not think you will never be effected. Send a message. Get involved.

The Conway City Council is still trying to ignore us while Aldi pushes ahead with this reckless plan for our neighborhood streets. I have been spending my time demanding real answers from the planning department and documenting exactly why this entrance is a disaster waiting to happen. Do not let them think we are going to quiet down just because they refuse to acknowledge our safety.

The massive surge in support proves the City of Conway and Aldi cannot ignore our neighborhood any longer. People are waking up to this corporate arrogance and we are not backing down until they move that entrance.

I am a resident of wild wing and the traffic at the light is bad now without Aldi even being open .

The traffic is already a mess trying to get in and out during rush hour. Adding a grocery store entrance right there is just asking for a bad accident to happen.

We did not build a beautiful home in a beautiful area to have it ruined by businesses ruining the roads.

WW Blvd will eventually be the entrance and exit for at least 500 new homes (more tax dollars for Conway). That alone will add a substantial amount of traffic at the light. Additional traffic generated by Aldi will definitely make it unsafe and possibly deter more sales in our area.

The proper maintenance to an entrance to an upscale development such as Wild Wing Plantation is critical to for several reasons including safety and property values. A supermarket does not fit the environment

We are opposed to have the entrance to Aldi on W.W.Blvd for safety of our community

To much building and the storm drains can't keep up with the water run off.
