Students at A.L Brown and other Kannapolis City Schools that have unifrom are tired of this strict dress code. Because of the dress code families have harder times buying and finding clothes that fit this dress code. As a result of dress code kids come to school uncomfortable and distracted by if their pants, shirts, hoodies etc. are properly shaded, and textured. Not to include, people of our ages feel more comfortable in their learning enviroment when they are expressing themselves and comfortable in clothing. The dress code does not stop or reduce bulling, at all. Brands of shirts, pants and hoodie are a bigger issuse because of the dress code. In conclusion, students in Kannapolis City Schools that have dress code want this policy changed, to allow them to express themselves freely

I personally don't like the uniform dress code. They're expensive, hard to find, uncomfortable and you still have to buy regular clothes. So essentially you're buying 2 wardrobes.
I do not think that uniforms should be required at our school. Bullying still occurs due to the shoes or brands that you have. I feel like we should be able to express who we are as a person, not be concealed by some uniform policy.
Please. I like my clothes i wanna be comfortable not all worried bout if someone is gonna say something. I freeze my butt off cause i dont have money for a proper sweater. Its ridiculous
I really want to be able to express myself, other than wearing a uniform that I can put accessories on just so the school van look "professional" when in reality its just giving hassle.to the students and the parents just so the school can make themselves look better when actually heir just preventing people from spreading creativity and being themselves. Thank you for this.
If you're going to say that the way someone is dressed is more important than their education, that is just ignorant and not a good message.

Dress codes limit creativity, and teaches people to be ashamed of their bodies for no reason. Today's society does not need them to be so strict, if really at all in schools since most universities don't have them.
