Hi my name is Brandie. I am trying to find more parents like myself who has a child with a late birthday. The board of education has changed the deadline to August 31st some years back. I feel the deadline should be pushed back to October 31st. It is a lot of kids that have to wait a whole year for school when they are mentally ready for kindergarten. My sons birthday is September 2nd and he is more then ready for school. If you feel the same please sign the petition. If you know someone going through this please sign we need your help.

My son to has a late bday. His bday is 20 days after the deadline and I don't think its fair he has to wait. He has been in school since he was 4 weeks old. He is mature enough for kindergarten
Love this! My son is born after the deadline and i dont think its fair. Hope that we can get it changed because its a problem alot of families have.
My niece has a late birthday an she will have to wait another year and she already been to head start

Kids entering kindergarten shouldn't go by a age deadline.
I feel the same that's why I'm trying to do something to make them change it.
I feel like it needs to be changed also instead of making children wait

I don't think a child should have to stay in prek 2 years because of a birthday. If the child is academically and emotionally ready they should be able to enter kindergarten as long as they are 5 before end of year which is Dec 31..
