As a community of parents, teachers, caregivers and neighbors, who support individuals with special needs, we would like to see the creation of an amusement park that is fully inclusive and accessible. Far too often, children and adults with special needs are denied meaningful access to theme and water parks, due to the nature of their disabilities.
Recently, a park opened in San Antonio, Texas, that is designed to be fully inclusive to all individuals. Morgan's Wonderland is currently a one-of-a-kind facility that provides amazing opportunities for children and adults with and without disabilities. (www.morganswonderland.com)
We strongly believe that indicials with special needs and their families should not have to travel to Texas in order to access these types of recreational facilities. Please help us make an accessible amusement park a reality for Capital Region Families.

I have been hearing from so many families who are tired of leaving their children on the sidelines while everyone else plays. My heart breaks every time I read your stories because I know exactly how that exclusion feels. I am currently reaching out to local planning boards to see who is willing to listen to our kids.

Watching this movement grow is deeply moving because I know exactly how many families are tired of being left out of the fun. This momentum proves that we all deserve a space where our loved ones are welcomed without hesitation.

Every kid deserves access to unadulterated fun. I was happy to see our local park add a swing set recently, but that's not enough. Kids of all ages and abilities should be able to head up to their local amusement park and go on rides and play in the water park without restrictions. Please help make this a reality for so many deserving families!
I sign this petition because I agree with all of the statements made, however I do feel Capital Region Fun Parks "Great Escape" and "Huck Finn's Play Land" do a great job with making their parks accessible. Could they do more... Perhaps? Since this petition is still new, I'd like to see its organizers add specifics as to what current or future Capital Region Fun Parks should do to increase accessibility.

what a fabulous idea, these type of parks should've been available years ago. So many special needs children would benefit, what fun for them.
