I am starting this petition to get an all-inclusive playground in Jackson. The Tot Land is in need of being updated and my daughter who has special needs loves the park. However, she is unable to climb or walk and cannot keep up with other kids her age on the playground. It breaks my heart to see so much joy be limited because of her physical disability. She should be able to enjoy the same things that all kids enjoy without having her disability hold her back.

I have been meeting with local planning staff to discuss the layout of the space at Tot Land. They are listening to our demands but we need more pressure to ensure the final design is truly accessible. Post this link on your Facebook page and email your city council member to insist on universal design standards today.

We hit our first major momentum goal today and officials are finally starting to acknowledge that our current park design leaves children behind. Take this link and post it to your Facebook feed right now so the parks department sees that we are not going away. Call your district representative tomorrow and force a meeting about accessible equipment for our kids.

I feel like this is crucial. Kids with disabilities are unfortunately and I think, mostly unintentionally left out of the loop. I would love to be involved in something that betters our future-our kids! Great Idea! Thanks!
I believe all children should have the ability to enjoy playing outside. With updates made to your playground equipment will not only allow this little girl to be able to play like all other children, but will also allow others with physical disabilities be able play like all children.
What a wonderful idea! I'm sorry you're having to start this, there should have already been a special needs playground here! The welcome signs have - Jackson is "home of beautiful homes churches and parks"!
All children should be treated equally. Way to go Amber for starting what should have been done along time ago . No child should be left out because they can't cross the monkey bars or climb the rock wall. I agree the parks should be updated . Hope this petition works.
Accessible playground and adaptive sports options for children and adults is so important for quality of life and maintaining a healthy active lifestyle, especially for folks with disabilities.

If there are any plans in place for park upgrades are additions, this is an excellent idea. Disability playgrounds are able to be used by all kids. Why not????
