In view of the epidemic theft of horses; Accountability of abattoirs is essential.
For example - scrapyards by law now insist on name, address and form of ID before paying the for scrap by cheque. This creates a paper trail and has vastly curtailed some of the criminality involved in scrap dealing.
This is an essential step to take with regard to abattoirs. Cash for 'meat' must stop. A paper trail will make the theft of horses much less attractive.
