The university officially confirmed that graduation is moving to the Von Braun Center. I am relieved that families will now get to see their graduates walk across the stage together in one place. We did it.

I have spent the last few days hearing from students and families who are worried about being excluded from the ceremony due to the current venue constraints. My classmates and I are currently drafting a formal letter to the administration to explain why the Von Braun Center is the necessary solution for our graduation. We deserve a space where everyone who supported us can actually witness this milestone.

Seeing this feedback grow confirms that I am not the only student worrying about whether my family will actually get to see me walk across the stage. This momentum gives me hope that we can finally secure a venue that honors our hard work instead of hiding it in the Elmore gym.

About time someone said something. Ridiculous that we have to limit tickets for our own grad day.
Please move it!! My grandma walks with a cane and the stairs at the gym are a nightmare for her.
VBC makes so much more sense. It is graduation day not a high school assembly.
We worked way to hard for this to be cramped in that tiny gym. Do better AAMU.
So many people missed my sisters graduation because of the space issue last year. Lets make sure this doesnt happen again.

The elmore center is way too small. My whole family is coming from out of state and half of them wont even get a seat. Move it to the VBC!
