I am calling on The Department for Transport to build a new dual-carriageway from Camborne to Penzance, bypassing Crowlas in Cornwall, as part of the post-2020 Road Investment Strategy (2).

I also request that urgent, interim road safety and traffic calming measures should be undertaken immediately on the existing road.

The feedback I have received from residents highlights the daily frustration caused by current traffic conditions on this route. Discussions with regional transport planning officials are currently underway to ensure our request remains a central priority for infrastructure funding.

This leg of the A30 is the last that still goes through villages - all the other villages between Penzance and Exeter previously on the A30 have been bypassed. Thought needs to be given to a solution.

Due to Penzance DPD proposals Highways England predict traffic on this route will increase by 40% roads can't cope now bypass is desperately needed before DPD proposals are implemented.

This bypass is key to the economy of West Cornwall. It will also bring back the hearts of the villages currently sliced in half by the increasingly heavy through traffic

The A30 though Crowlas, especially the x roads is a disaster waiting to happen. I have to cross the road regularly with two small children and am amazed at the speed of some of the vehicles when trying to cross the road to get the children to school.

Crowlas has far too much fast traffic travelling through it. The crossroads are a danger to all road users. Residents risk car drivers not stopping to allow them to cross the road. This has happened to me even when a red traffic light was operating.

A bypass would be very welcome considering safety, pollution and congestion. However some of the proposed interim measures such as the traffic lights at Crowlas crossroads and At Erth, will unfortunately cause utter chaos and lead to the back roads becoming rat runs.

Couldn't agree more. People just want to get home with their family at the end of the day. After 3 o'clock. You can barely move, let alone when people don't know where they're going or it's holiday season.
