The stories from drivers using the A1079 are eye-opening. I am currently compiling these experiences to include with our final hand-over.

The A1079 must be upgraded to dual carriageway status. It is ridiculous that the major road between the East & North Ridings is single carriageway for all but 2.5 miles. It is the single biggest barrier to trade in the region & accompanied by the fact that there is no direct rail route between York and Hull is the region why our region is being left behind.
Driven this road for 20 years it is a death trap. Needs dualing ASAP.
FIX THE A1079 NOW. WASTING SO MUCH TIME IN TRAFFIC EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Every time I drive to York I get stuck behind tractors and lorries for miles. Its a nightmare for everyone trying to get to work.
This road is so dangerous. My son drives it everyday and im always worried sick about him.
