We will be submitting an application to the Town Zoning Board soon to approve a Dog Park to be located behind Cornerstone Pool, between the pool building and the Buena Vista Golf Course. It will be about 3/4 of an acre, with double gated entries, and a separate area for small and timid dogs. There will usually be plenty of parking in the pool parking lot, and supplemented by on-street parking along Cornerstone Drive.
The Dog Park will be virtually invisible, except for signage. It is hidden by trees along Cornerstone Drive, and trees will be planted along the fence facing the golf course.
The Dog Park will not cost the taxpayers of West Hartford. The WHDPC will raise the funds needed to build and maintain the park.

The feedback from neighbors remains split but I am still pushing through the logistical hurdles for our zoning application. It is exhausting work to keep answering the same objections yet we are not stopping until this park has a place to exist.

This would be so awesome for the community. Finally somewhere safe to let the dogs play.
YES PLEASE. tired of driving to neighboring towns just to give my pup some exercise.
We seriously need this. My dog has nowhere to run around here without being on a leash. This is a perfect spot for it.
Please make this happen! My golden retriever would be so happy to have a place to meet other dogs.
