Protect Coastal Dance and Music Academy! Reject the Issuance of Permit to Sell and/or Dispense Marijuana at 998 & 1030 Huston Street in Grover Beach

Currently underway, the City Council of Grover Beach is considering the issuance of a permit to sell and/or dispense marijuana in any form within the boundaries of the Business Buildings at 998 & 1030 Huston Street in Grover Beach which is the location of Coastal Dance and Music Academy.
The issuance of this permit would displace 7 locally owned businesses, and effectively destroy a unique hub of community building that brings families of Grover Beach together. Coastal Dance and Music Academy alone houses over 400 students and families, offering a space for children to learn and parents to connect.
The selling and/or distribution of marijuana is both inappropriate and incompatible with the mission, and patrons, of Coastal Dance and Music Academy.
We ask for your support on this petition in requesting that the City Council reject marijuana dispensary permits to be issued to any business in this location. If you choose to sign, it would be tremendously helpful if you could please list your city of residence in the "Comments" section.

The days feel long and the uphill battle to protect our dance academy is draining. We are nearing one hundred signatures and I need you to push this a little further before we hit the next wall.

This is not an appropriate location for a dispensary, as it's home to a dance school and a gymnastics company where many children attend. The parking lot is very busy and often has small children crossing. Please find another location away from the kids in the community.
CDMA is more than a business; it is a community educational center that helps to keep our kids OFF of drugs. Placing a marijuana dispensary in this complex is so obviously inappropriate. Do the right thing Grover!
This permit is totally unfair to CDMA and the surrounding businesses. As a former teacher there I can attest to CDMA's successful family oriented business & their commitment to children and adults alike. I live in A.G. Thank you for your consideration. Beverly Dahlke-Smith
While some may argue there is a place for this kind of business, it certainly isn't next to where children and families are spending time. There's a reason dispensaries aren't allowed this close to schools. This should be a safety decision, not a financial one. Please reconsider.
CDMA is the home away from home for many children and their families. A dispensary is no more suitable there than a liquor store. There are plenty of other buildings/vacant lots where this type of business can be located. Please help us stop the deep pockets of this enterprise and sign!
Please allow this amazing family and organization (CDMA) to continue their business in Grover Beach in a safe environment free from a cannabis business and all that encompasses it! Vote no on allowing this cannabis business. Respectfully, Lisa and Charlie Katherman, Pismo Beach, CA.

An area that contains businesses focused on personal improvement, growth, and the development of children into strong and capable adults is not compatible with a business complex that houses a marijuana dispensary.
