Headingley Post Office has been earmarked for closure.
As many will know, long queues often form and this is a vital community asset and a central point in Headingley Town Centre.
Headingley Councillors Jonathan Pryor and Neil Walshaw have written to the Chief Executive of the Post Office to ask for financial details as we have been told that Headingley Post Office does make a profit!

Headingley is a thriving community with a strong mix of residents and students all of whom have the need for the varied services of a post office. To force us to travel into Leeds city centre and then wait in a queue for an hour is ludicrous. SOPO.
There can't be any good justification for closing Headingley post office. I've been using it for 20 years and it will have a serious and detrimental impact to many people in the community, especially the elderly and the disabled.
Headingley needs this branch and the people in the surrounding area need all the services provided by the branch including all the Financial products which will provide the profit they are desperately seeking.
This is my local post office and will cause great inconvenience to me if it closes. People will get in their cars to drive elsewhere which will create more traffic in the area and the elderly will be cut off even more.
The West Park and Weetwood post offices were closed not long ago and we were told that we have to use Headingley. If that closes there is no real facility for post office users to go along this part of the A660 corridor.

Since the closure of the 2 small Post Offices on the Otley Road (West Park and near the Cottage Road cinema) this Crown Post Office has become even more important to our local community.It is always incredibly busy,obviously a necessity in our area.
